About us
Hi, we're Mike and Kathy Zap
This blog is our way of keeping family and friends updated on our travels.
Why we wander
We've always believed the best stories happen when you leave the itinerary behind. Whether it's a 61-day loop through Alaska or a lazy afternoon getting lost in a city we've never heard of, travel has a way of reminding us what matters.
This blog started as a simple idea: keep the people we love in the loop while we're out on the road. No fancy agenda — just honest dispatches from wherever we happen to be.
We travel by RV, by ferry, by foot, and occasionally by very questionable back roads. We've watched the sun rise over Denali, waded the Narrows in Zion, and followed the Missouri River all the way to the Pacific. Every trip leaves us a little more grateful and a little more curious about what's around the next bend.
How we travel
Slow down
We rarely rush. A week in one place beats a day in seven.
Capture honestly
We photograph what we actually see — not just the postcard version.
Stay connected
No matter how far we roam, this blog keeps us close to the people we love.
